Lower
Nehalem
Community
Trust
promotes
the
protection
of
important
wildlife
habitat
in
the Lower Nehalem region. We are interested
in insuring that critical lands are protected for future
generations. The Trust is now focused on the acquisition of a number of additional parcels of land along the northern edge of the Nehalem estuary. There are a wide variety of ways for land to be protected. The Trust works with landowners to find ways that fit with the interests of the land owner. Currently, we own
land at four locations: Two of these parcels were donated to the Trust by individuals who wished to see their land protected from development. The remainder were acquired through State and Federal grants and local private donations.
