What Volunteers do

Volunteers are at the core of all of our programs.

Volunteers:

  •  tend our garden and greenhouse, plant treees and control invasive plants.  They provide guidance during our elementary school field trips.
  • monitor birds help to determine the effectiveness of our restoration efforts.
  • develop plans for the management of Alder Creek Farm and our Vosburg property.
  • provides overall guidance to Trust activities.  The Trust board is composed entirely of volunteers.

We'd love to talk to you about your skills, abilities and interests so that we can find volunteer tasks perfect for you. Come to one of our trust events and talk with us or simply print out our Volunteer Wecome Packet, fill it out and send it to us.

Current Volunteer Needs

Vosburg Creek Plant & Bird Monitors: What an exciting time to explore this beautiful place! We are doing baseline monitoring so as to understand the effects of our restoration efforts down the road. Plant and bird ID skills a plus.

Fundraising Committee Members: We thrive through the generosity of our donors. This committee is currently developing a five year fundraising plan to diversity our funding sources and ensure the stability and health of the organization in perpetuity. Do you have experience in fundraising, or simply interest? We arte seeking 1-2 new Committee Members.

Work Party Volunteers: We hold work parties in our garden every Tuesday during growing season, stewardship of Alder Creek Farm natural areas every Wednesday (weather permitting) and in one of our natural areas one Saturday every month.  Our upcoming work parties are listed under Trust Events. Come on out!

Contact the Trust for more information at (503) 368-3203 or LNCT(at)NehalemTel.net. Thanks so much for your interest in volunteering with the Trust!
