REGISTER NOW for the 2022 Nehalem Estuary Cleanup. Spend a day making a lasting difference in our beautiful Nehalem Bay Estuary and our community! This is an all ages and all abilities event. Opportunities will range from collecting debris, sorting materials, and helping with set-up and take down. This event is co-hosted by the Lower Nehalem Community Trust and Lower Nehalem Watershed Council .
When? Saturday, March 5th.
Orientation: 7:30 am Cleanup: After Orientation till 4:00 p.m., or until you finish your assigned area.
Base: Wheeler Waterfront Park, Wheeler, OR
What we’ll do: At or near low tide we will walk or paddle the high tide line to collect trash, then bring it back to be sorted, counted, weighed, and disposed of. We plan to have room for walk-ons and ways that youth can help.
What to bring: Be prepared for a wide range of conditions, from warm and clear to cold and wet. Dress appropriately. Bring drinking water and your own snack or sack lunch. Wear waterproof boots, work gloves and layers. Your team will also organize safety or first aid equipment.
Celebrate: After you finish your cleanup, come back for hot food and socializing in Waterfront Park, Wheeler.

COVID-19: Be prepared to protect yourself and others from Covid-19. Bring a mask (or two) with you, and wear one whenever you gather in a group of 2 or more. When you go through the food line or interact with other volunteers you will be expected to have your mask on.
