Please join us on Friday, July 9, at the north end of Wheeler town to help remove invasive species and protect the natives we have planted over the past couple of years.
We will work at the
Zimmerman Marsh property, at the north end of the town of Wheeler. This is an active restoration area on what is basically a gravel pile. Volunteers have been transforming this area by planting red flowering currant, Nootka rose, seaside daisy and others. These plants are growing but so are the invasive species that surround them. Our goal this week is to clear away the invasive plants that grew over the new natives.
Meet at the corner of 101 and Hemlock (
Map) at 10:00, and we’ll work to noon. Tools are provided but you’ll want to bring sturdy footwear and gloves for encounters with blackberry.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday!
