HEADWATERS – CAMPSITE AND LAUREL REMOVAL
February 4 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Friday, repeating until February 4, 2022
WHAT WE’LL DO: We will continue removing an invasive laurel tree and start removing trash from an old campsite on the Headwaters property. Both activities will include strenuous work on uneven terrain. Be prepared to carry wood, trash, tools, and other materials uphill and across uneven ground. We will also have less strenuous work to do!
WHERE: Meet at the end of Nehalem Road, by Highway 101. Park along the shoulder of Nehalem Road, just west of the intersection with 101.
WHEN: Fridays, from January 14 to February 4. Please arrive by 10:00 a.m.
WHAT TO BRING: If you have a large backpack, sack, or other means to carry out trash, that would be helpful to bring. Also, we could use one or more battery-powered cutting tools, such as a Sawzall, with blades to cut a variety of materials.
Wear sturdy, covered shoes, dress for variable weather, and bring protective eyewear. If you have a favorite pair of gloves, please bring them, or we’ll lend you a pair. Long-sleeved shirts and eye protection are important to help keep you safe from scrapes and cuts.
