Hyertufa Workshop, Native Plant, and Seed Swap

September 27, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Sign up required: Learn how to make a hypertufa pot for your garden. This workshop along with native plant and seed swap will be hosted at Alder Creek Farm and lead by the Filipendula Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon (NPSO) with assistance from LNCT. NSPO works for plant and habitat conservation and they sponsor field trips and work parties, involving members in conservation of Oregon’s diverse plant heritage.

They’ll demonstrate in a hands-on workshop. You will learn how to mix hypertufa and make your own planter. Following this, the seed and plant swap will be held. Planters will be set aside to dry. They can be taken home by Tuesday, but will need another month to complete curing before planting.

Bring seeds and plants (natives only, please) to trade, lunch and water, heavy washing gloves; wear old clothes in case of cement smears. If you want to come home with your own bucket of perlite, peat and cement to do your next batch, please bring a 5 gallon bucket.

Activity organizers are Kathleen Sayce, Amy Hutmacher and Jeff Roehm. Contact Carla Cole carlajeancole@gmail.com to sign up (required); Limited to 10 people, suggested donation of $10 per person.
