STEWARDSHIP – BOTTS MARSH – Remove Scotch Broom Along RR Tracks

May 13, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

When:  Friday May 13, 10:00
Where: Hemlock & 101, Wheeler, OR
What:  We will remove Scotch broom from above Botts Marsh, along the railroad tracks north of Wheeler.

Scotch broom is a highly aggressive invasive plant. We will be moving along the Coastal RR right-of-way to remove these plants so they don’t spread into Botts Marsh.  Last year we worked our way along the dike on the river side of Botts. This year’s work will continue that same effort to protect the marsh, but on its east side.

This will be a rare chance to see Botts from a new angle!

Please wear sturdy shoes. This activity will occur along uneven ground on the railroad right-of-way.
We will provide tools and gloves, but we encourage you to bring your own, as well.

If you have questions, please contact us at lnct@nehalemtrust.org or (503) 368-3203.
