TOHL MEADOWS-INVASIVE PLANT REMOVAL AND MULCHING

September 16, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

AUGUST 5 @ 9:00 AM12:00 PM

Recurring Event (See all)

WHERE:This week we will go to LNCT’s Tohl Meadows property, on Tohl Avenue, in Nehalem. Park along the road, towards the Bay, where you can find a wide shoulder.
When: Fridays August 5, August 12, August 19, August 26, September 2, September 9 and September 16  from 9:00 to 12:00

What We’ll Do: We will remove invasive plants and mulch around our planted native trees and shrubs. They were planted two years ago, and new mulch will help them to survive and flourish. Why? Mulch helps to retain moisture during the dry season and moderate soil temperatures throughout the year. Mulch also enhances soil fertility and reduces weed competition which allows the trees to grow faster.

We will provide tools and gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for variable coastal Oregon weather!

If you are are new to LNCT and are interested in participating in our activities, please sign up to volunteer with us through our Volunteer Signup page! When you express an interest in Stewardship you are not required to attend every week, but you will receive a weekly stewardship email with updates, announcements about Stewardship events and photos of recent events. It is a fun way to keep up with our activities and progress.

For further information please check out our Stewardship webpage, or contact our Stewardship Lead at: shane@nehalemtrust.org.
