What We’ll Do: We will remove invasive plants and mulch around our planted native trees and shrubs. They were planted two years ago, and new mulch will help them to survive and flourish. Why? Mulch helps to retain moisture during the dry season and moderate soil temperatures throughout the year. Mulch also enhances soil fertility and reduces weed competition which allows the trees to grow faster.
If you are are new to LNCT and are interested in participating in our activities, please sign up to volunteer with us through our Volunteer Signup page! When you express an interest in Stewardship you are not required to attend every week, but you will receive a weekly stewardship email with updates, announcements about Stewardship events and photos of recent events. It is a fun way to keep up with our activities and progress.
