1 | 2 BEACH BIKES + BLANKET + PINBALL TASTING + FISH ‘N CHIPS FOR 4
Donors: Kate & Andy Grimm, Sue Griffith, North Coast Pinball, Debbie Moberly
LNCT reluctantly said goodbye to two amazing volunteers this year when Kate and Andy Grimm set out to make New Hampshire their home. They left their beach bikes behind and now those bikes can become new to you. Carry the Pendleton® waterproof blanket along in case you need a quick shelter or something to sit on while you relax on the beach.
Explore Nehalem and treat your party of 4 to a comprehensive, curated over- view of the world of pinball. You’ll learn from an expert how pinball machines are designed, maintained and—most importantly—played. A private tour begins with twenty carefully selected pinball machines at North Coast Pinball, which span over four decades of pinball history. You’ll learn how the games have evolved over the years and what that has meant for players and for the business of pinball.
Your party and perhaps other North Coast Pinball guests will choose a couple of machines to focus on in detail. What’s under the hood? How do they work? How and why do they break? What are the skills that are needed to repair or restore them? And then you’ll have some fun playing pinball! You’ll see an expert demonstrate some of the core skills that are essential for high scores, and you’ll get to practice and develop these skills for yourself. You’ll see how an experienced player decides where to aim their shots for maxi- mum scores on the specific games you and your companions selected.
After the tour, North Coast Pinball will open to the public and of course you should consider practicing (or showing off) those new skills you’ve learned.
When you and your friends have worked up an appetite, walk back to Riverside Fish & Chips for a delicious meal to take home or enjoy alongside the Nehalem River.
Pinball tour available Thursday-Monday 10:00 – 11:30 AM and must be scheduled with Will at North Coast Pinball.

13 | “INGENIUM NATURA” OIL ON WOOD PAINTING + ARTIST STUDIO TOUR FOR UP TO 4
Donor/Artist: Deb DeWitt
“The concept behind this painting comes from the Latin word ingenium which means ‘gift of nature’. In my interpretation, all human creative thought is just imagination born from the experience and workings of Nature – be it a slashing rainstorm, the emergence of a seed sprout, the recognition in the eyes of a cat, or the synthesizing neural networks of a brain. All is Nature. Ideas, language, spirit come from it, are part of it and are beholden to it. I asked Phil Blanton, as a friend, to model for the figure in this work because he is a creative writer and his intensity embodies the weather. ‘Ingenium Natura’, the genius of nature, is a significant piece in my exploration of thought, experience and our place in the natural world.”
Along with the painting, the winning bidder will have the opportunity to visit the studio at Huckleberry Farm, share wine, cheese and conversation with a couple of your friends, and also see the 100-year-old house and 5 acre property built by Dr. ER Huckleberry which Deborah and her husband documentary filmmaker Carl Vandervoort have spent the last 13 years rescuing from invasives and time. The date and time of this gathering to be arranged by the winning bidder and the hosts.
