Date: Wednesday, January 10th
Time: 10 am – 2 pm, with leisurely lunch break
We’ll join OPRD Natural Resource Specialist, Trevor Griffiths, to beautify and enhance the park by planting an assortment of native trees, shrubs and wildflowers to improve visitor experience, while also increasing the food, nectar, and habitat available to local birds, bees, and beasts. We’ll also spread mulch around the base of the plants to increase soil moisture retention and decrease competition from weeds. Cages will also be installed to protect the new plants.
Meeting Location/Parking: We will meet at the Meeting Hall just past the campground registration booth. There is ample parking next to the hall. Here is a map link to the parking location
What to Expect: Service will take place outdoors, and volunteers should be comfortable wearing work gloves and using hand tools. Much of the work will involve bending and kneeling as well.
